Dare Devil

In the opening sequence of Dare Devil symolism is used to create meaning. The use of red liquid dripping to form an object creates the idea that the series could have a violent story line and that he could potentially take the law into his own hands since it gives the impression that its blood.
In this screenshot the lady of justice is shown. This is particularly symbolic because of Dare Devil working in law, which is what the lady of justice represents. The lady of justice is blind folded because she only weighs out the evidence. The relation to Dare Devil is that he is blind also.

Dare Devil

The series Dare Devil shows contrast through symbolism. Towards the end of the sequence a frame of a church and angel is shown, then it cuts to the slow formation of a devil. These juxtaposed images contrast to suggest the idea of good vs evil. It helps give the idea that the series will be contriversal and touch on taking the law into his own hands, and deciding wether or not it is ethical.

Symbolism is used in the series, Arrow. In this screenshot, the arrow is holding a worn, old bow and arrow. This suggests that he has been on the remote island for quite some time, and has had to make his own weapons with the materials left on the island. In this sequence, The Arrows clothing is very worn and he is shown to be very messy and dirty. This shows the effect of being on a remote island with no conects with others as being tough and hard work.
